¹Full style: Malik al-Mamlaka al-`Arabiyya al-Su`udiyya ("King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" [short form "King of Saudi Arabia"]); from 17 Oct 1986, the ruler's name is prefixed with: Khadim al-Haramayn al-Sharifayn ("Servant of the Two Noble Sanctuaries [Mecca and Medina]").

Territorial Disputes: Saudi Arabia has reinforced its concrete-filled security barrier along sections of the now fully demarcated border with Yemen to stem illegal cross-border activities; Kuwait and Saudi Arabia continue discussions on a maritime boundary with Iran;  Egyptian-administered islands of Tiran and Sanafir, administered by Egypt since 1950 (based on 1906 Egyptian-Ottoman border delineation) were ceded to Saudi Arabia on 24 Jun 2017.
